Flexideck is manufactured from 99% recycled polyethylene, resulting in a lightweight, easily cleaned, non-penetrative & rot free system that can be designed & produced by Safetyworks & Solutions to suit any profile. To compliment the Flexideck system, & provide fall arrest protection, a Uniline overhead system was mounted to the steel beams, with a further system installed to the main roof above via Uniline force management anchors. To complete, a secure box was installed on the landings to enable safe roof access via the existing hatch.

Maintenance personnel accessing the rooftop of Stephenson House in Bletchley, Milton Keynes can do so with the assurance that Safetyworks & Solutions have installed a safety at height system that has been tailored specifically for the building.

Vacant for the past three years, the fifteen-storey high Stephenson House has been brought back to life to offer a more sustainable & secure living environment. The 30 year old building has been refurbished to provide 110 one & two-bedroom apartments, a brand new shopping mall, & around 6,620 square foot of retail space on the ground floor.

STEPHENSON HOUSE (Part 2)
Now complete, Stephenson House once again stands proud & has been re-born as a landmark in design with its contemporary façade dominating Bletchley’s skyline.

Working in partnership with the architects, Safetyworks & Solutions supplied & installed 200m of Flexideck walkway system which was installed to the rigidal standing seam roof, thereby enabling operatives to safely access the vents & rainwater valleys on this particularly narrow section of the roof. The Flexideck system was mounted to the top of the seams with specially adapted bearers that will prevent the system lifting off in high winds.

PROVIDE A ‘SYSTEM SOLUTION’ FOR SOUTHEND HOSPITAL
Having successfully supplied numerous roof access systems to many locations within the health sector, SAFETYWORKS & Solutions were delighted to provide a comprehensive roof safety solution for installation at Southend Hospital.

The project, spanning the hospital’s entire eight-acre site, involved the upgrading of the hospital roof access & safety systems to fourteen separate areas. Following a full site assessment of the existing systems, SAFETYWORKS & Solutions submitted a precise report & plan of recommendation for the supply of a new, up-graded system that would enable operatives to undertake maintenance tasks at height safely & securely.

SOUTHEND HOSPITAL (Part 2)
To ensure safe roof access, SAFETYWORKS & Solutions manufactured & installed sixteen Access Ladders, & for edge protection & easy movement around the various hospital roof areas, their Easyguard 2 Clamp-On Handrail system was installed, in conjunction with their Flexideck Walkway system. Easyguard is a permanent free-standing handrail, offering a modular, non-penetrative system, which is lightweight in design, easy to assemble & is weatherproof & corrosion resistant. Extensively installed throughout many commercial environments, Flexideck Walkway system is manufactured from 99% recycled polyethylene, resulting in a lightweight, non-penetrative & rot free system that is suitable for use with both new build & retrofit installations. It also offers low maintenance &, as further testimony to its excellent performance, a 25-year guarantee is standard.

The design has a magnificent sweeping roof & a living screen to soften the rear elevation. The redevelopment will also provide further covered seating & additional facilities for the SCCC Cricket School.

Working in conjunction with the appointed architects & contractors, Safetyworks & Solutions were able to utilise their wealth of experience within similar stadia environments to ensure that the most suitable roof access system was specified for this high profile new construction.

To enable safe access to the roofs central glazing & main water gutters, it was evident from the outset that several factors would have to be addressed, & following detailed assessment of the structure & associated risks, Safetyworks & Solutions specified the Uniline 8mm Stainless Steel Lifeline. Safetyworks & Solutions Ltd, experts in the manufacture & installation of an extensive range of fall protection systems & access solutions, were delighted to provide the complete roof access system for the new OCS Stand at the famous Oval Cricket Ground.

The new stand, positioned at the Vauxhall end of the Oval Cricket Ground has replaced a collection of outdated stands & temporary buildings, & now provides 14,500 seats, raising the ground capacity to 23,000 spectators. The stand has four upper hospitality levels to accommodate 2,500 guests on match days & provide conference & banqueting facilities on non-match days.
