Darlington, for L& K Safety

Description: 150 l/m of Flexideck was supplied to L&K Safety for them to install for their client. Working closely with L&K the Flexideck was pre-manufactured to ensure that the correct materials were delivered to site. Flexideck is produced with either a short or long bearer to go either up or across the roof when installed on steel or aluminim roofs.

Oakshot Estate.

Description: A bespoke solution was required for a non penetrative free standing handrails that would match existing rails on the low level areas.. A detail was created to match the existing that satisfied the client, the system was then powder coated before delivery and installation. All materials were raised to the work area by hoist; once the installation was completed any damage to the finish was repaired on site. Two walk ways were manufactured and installed to link the three roof areas at high level.

MARS Construction, Stephenson House

Description: 170 l/m of Flexideck with 170 l/m of Uniline were installed to the lower main roof for access to maintain gutters and satellite dishes. The overhead Uniline system was fixed to support steelwork behind the soffit, the walk ways were installed ontop of the standing seam roof.

Data-centre, Surrey

Description: In excess of 650 l/m of Flexideck and 350 l/m of Uniline were installed to provide total safe access to the gutters and across the roofs at a new Data-centre in Surrey. (Due to security requirements more info cannot be given as to exact location) Safetyworks provided user equipment and end user training for the client once the installation was completed.

Description: 260 l/m of Easyguard 2 clamp on handrail and 180 l/m of Flexideck were supplied to one of our partners for installation on the new roof of a Yogurt factory. The materials were delivered to HASL on our Lorries on time to meet their crane, all the materials were lifted onto the new Ashzip roof without overloading it, HASL s trained staff fitted the handrail and walk ways to a very high standard much to their clients satisfaction.

John Lewis Partnership Granby, Milton Keynes.

Description: 355 l/m of Flexideck and 465 l/m of FallGuard were installed on to the cementatious fragile roof sheets to provide safe access to maintain and clean the gutters. Additional sections of Flexideck and FallGuard were provided for moving around the roof to provide temporary safe walk ways to various pieces of plant in other locations across the roof.

HANDRAILS

Free Standing Handrails

Loughton College - back to school. Description: Over 600 l/m of Easyguard free standing handrails were installed to 8 roofs at the new college. 2, 4m caged access ladders were installed for access to different roof levels and a small staircase from an escape door also.

Free Standing Handrails

Royal Gloucester hospital. Free standing handrails, ladders, stairs gantries and Uniline fall restraint systems were installed on the new Royal Gloucester hospital. Total roof access was provided for the FM providers to access all high level areas safely. Safetyworks are back on site for Phase 2, on the new Woman s Unit that is currently under construction with Costain and Single Ply Services.

MoBiGuards

Bovis.. Description: Several pairs of MoBiGuards have been sold to Bovis for unloading lorries on site, with the risk of falls from the lorries during unloading or slinging loads..

DoMoGuards

Health Protection Agency, Porland Down. Description: DoMoGuards were installed with Easyguard free standing handrails and Uniline fall restraint systems to various high level areas around The Health Protection Agency. The DomoGuards were fitted around various roof lights that were not mansafe and there was risk of falling through.

DeMarkit and Easyguard

Southend Hospital. Description: DeMarkit was installed with Easyguard and several ladders around the Southend Hospital. DeMarkit was used above the X-Ray department to keep people away from areas with high radiation beneath.

DeMarkit and Easyguard

DeMarkit at the Peel Centre. Description: A combination of DeMarkit and Easyguard were used to delineate safe access across the roofs at the Metropolitan Police s Peel centre in lieu of perimeter barriers. With the counterweighted tripod bases working in 3 directions DeMarkit is incredibly stable in high winds or exposed areas where other systems fall over.

Downshear School - J Murphy Description: 60 m of fixed handrail with infill panels were required to protect the raised entrance area. The panels and rails were powder coated with a colour to match other finishes.

West Middlesex Hospital- Bouygues (UK) Ltd, Description: An assortment of galvanised and white powder coated fixed clamp type rails were installed around the grounds of the new Hospital where the risk of falls to the public occurred. Approximately 380m of rail were installed at ground level with a further 750 of Easyguard free standing handrails around the roof areas and several Uniline Fall restraint systems. Safetyworks provided an assortment of ladders and stair units for roof access and plant rooms as part of this project.

Pembury Estate, Wates Living Space Peabody Trust Description: Over 2.3 km of Easift fixed handrails were installed to the parapet of 26 separate blocks on the Pembury Estate, all in a powder coated finish over galvanised steel. Access was required for cleaning gutters and outlets that required regular cleaning through autumn and winter due to leaf drop from the neighbouring trees; safe access was also required for local satellite dish engineers who were the responsibility of Peabody Trust. A sample was installed and tested to ensure that the elderly parapet brickwork would sustain the loads that were required, special long stainless steel fixings were used to gain good loads, and further enhance the durability of the handrails.

Queen Mary's Hospital Sidcup Description: 200 l/m of Easyguard 2 was installed to the standing seam Rigidal roof to provide total roof edge protection. A new caged access ladder was also manufactured and installed for access to a high level plant room roof with a further 70m of Easyguard free standing handrails to provide similar protection to the high level areas.

Royal London Hospital, KiloBuild Roofing and Skanska, central London Description 260 l/m of Easyguard 2 were installed to 4 different roof areas. To fit in with Skanska s over subscribed crane schedule materials were brought in on timed deliveries then installed within Kilobuild s tight program as areas became available.

Jersey Hospital, St Helier. Description: 160 l/m of Easyguard 2 was installed with 80 l/m of Flexideck to provide safe access in 3 directions to the new block at jersey Royal Infirmary. 3 new stair and ladder units were also installed where the new block adjoined existing buildings. Everything was installed during 1 heavily choreographed visit.

LIFELINES

Uniline Black

The American Universtity South London. Description: Two 60m Uniline systems in black were installed for safe access to the box gutters. The Building is listed therefore a system that could not be seen rom ground level was required; the black cable blended in perfectly against the slate roofs.

Uniline Stainless Steel

Jersey Hospital. Description: 3 Uniline 8mm stainless steel wire based horizontal lifelines were installed to the new standing seam roof on Uniline Force Management Anchors. The fall restraint systems allowed safe access to the extremities of the roof without the risk of falls with an arrest system and the subsequent rescue problems associated with them.

T K Max, Hatfield, Sharky Roofing. Description: 200 l/m of Uniline Grey onto a composite roof sheet using Uniline Force Management Anchors.

Fall Restraint System

BBC,White City. Description: 6 Uniline 16mm Orange fall restraint systems were installed for safe access to clean and maintain the link bridge roofs. The uniline Orange was chosen principally for it Is high visibility and secondly because the system allows for posts in excess of 15m (upto 20m) centres reducing the amount of support posts required and the reduced disruption during installation.

The OCS stand, The Oval - Keyclad Ltd/Taylor Woodrow Description: Over 600 l/m of Uniline was installed to the main Wing roof and low level roofs during construction of the new stadium. Working closely with Keyclad is design team, Taylor Woodrow and the Architects, the original fall arrest scheme was scrapped and a fall restraint scheme adopted. The Uniline systems were installed to ensure falls would not occur from all of the roof levels. Safetyworks attend site each year to service and maintain the systems on a 5 year rolling contract.

ACCESS & CAT LADDERS

Ladder and Gantry

Mansford Estate. Description: 10 5m ladders, 20 3m ladders and 3000m of Easyguard were installed to the roofs of 24 blocks. The items shown have a secured gantry with a protective screen to one side to prevent un-authorised access with a 5m ladder up to roof level.

Gwent NHS Trust - Nevill Hall Hospital. Description: several access ladders (5m with a shield shown) and approximately 2000m of Easyguard were installed over a 3 year period as the trust had budget to spend on safety up-grades.

Fire Escape Staircase

Staircase for Westinster school - Pimlico. Description:A new fire escape staircase was designed and built by Safetyworks for use as a Fire escape at Pimlico School. 4 other staircases were installed on two other schools as part of the same project.

Ladder + Safety Gantry

Barnes Court, Barking. Description: An external roof access was required to the plant rooms on this flat to pitch conversion. The access was designed to prevent unauthorised access to the high level; to achieve this a low level gantry was installed that could only be accessed using a loose ladder. A second gantry was installed at high level adjacent to the new roof level dormer. The top gantry had to accommodate the large soffit and fascia, the design was carfied out by JPP on our behalf.

Up and Over Stair Units

Up and over stair units 3 x Peterborough Colleges (Voyager, Jack Hunt Ken Stimpson). Description: Several staircases, ladders up and over units were required in addition to Easyguard and Uniline on these 3 projects. Once the roof top ductwork was completed our designers went in to carry out a survey and fabrication began once drawings were provided. The above unit gives access to 3 roof areas from 1 unit.

Stair and Ramp Units

Fujitsu - Modus. Description: 11 ladders varying in height from 3 -6.5M, stair and ramp units, steel flooring Easyguard free standing handrails and Uniline fall restraint systems were installed at the new Fujitsu data centre in a project worth over £110K. All ladders and staircases were manufactured in our workshops with detailed design carried out by JPP our design partners.
