Pembury Estate, Wates Living Space Peabody Trust
Description: Over 2.3 km of Easift fixed handrails were installed to the parapet of 26 separate blocks on the Pembury Estate, all in a powder coated finish over galvanised steel.
Access was required for cleaning gutters and outlets that required regular cleaning through autumn and winter due to leaf drop from the neighbouring trees; safe access was also required for local satellite dish engineers who were the responsibility of Peabody Trust.
A sample was installed and tested to ensure that the elderly parapet brickwork would sustain the loads that were required, special long stainless steel fixings were used to gain good loads, and further enhance the durability of the handrails.
