Bespoke Manufacturing and Engineering

SAFETYWORKS & Solutions provide full manufacturing facilities bespoke and small production runs from our new works in Bluntisham.

Primarily involved in the manufacture of access equipment (Stairs ladders and gantries), the business has evolved over time and is now involved in the manufacture of larger more complex structures.

Recent projects include the design, manufacture and installation of a lecture theatre with a raised platform/projector room for the new Central Middlesex Hospital, balcony replacements for tenements in the London Borough of Hackney, access stairs and ramps for Fujitsu plus a high level raised walkway for Syngental Seeds.

Working with J.P.P. Design Services, larger more complex structures are designed with full supporting engineering calculations provided to ensure the finished product is compliant with the relevant standards.

SAFETYWORKS staff are pleased to arrange site visits to assess your needs and to carry out full site investigations and surveys.

All manufacture and installation is carried out by our own fully trained staff.

SAFETYWORKS predominantly work in mild steel with stainless steel barriers the only items manufactured in bright metals.

Our workshops are fully equipped to cater for light and medium structural steelwork and beams.

We are fully equipped with guillotines and folding equipment to cater for sheet steel work.

Finishes. The bulk of steelwork produced is galvanised to BS/EN 1461. 1999; this ensures a long lasting and durable finish.

Galvanising is an industrial finish; the colouration and texture can vary.

We have the facility via external companies to provide powder coating or enamel painting to all steelwork

London Borough of Hackney; during renovation of two 18 storey tower blocks and 8 low rise. Safetyworks designed, manufactured and installed replacement balconies to replace the old decayed units originally fitted back in the 1960’s.

Steel frames were manufactured to hold 3mm steel perforated panels. Stainless steel anti tamper fasteners were used to assemble to prevent vandalism or removal of the assemblies.

Fujitsu new data hall – a 15m D.D.A ramp, 7 staircases, 6 ladders (4-6m), suspended flooring, plant room sump guards and security walls were all manufactured and installed by SAFETYWORKS‘ engineers.

Easyguard Free standing hand rails were installed to exposed flat roof areas with a Uniline fall restraint installed system to the profiled sheet roofs.

London Borough of Tower Hamlets. In adition to installing in excess of 6000m of Easyguard handrails to the roof’s of the 27 blocks of flats on Mansford Estate. Ladder access was also required.

10 galvanised and powder coated suspended gantrie installed with security gates: Plus security panels to further reduce un-authorised access. 25 3m ladders were manufactured and installed providing roof access to different levels.

When Syngenta extended their 2 offices vertically, a link bridge was required to join them at high level. Access was still required at low level for farm machinery, therefore large unsupported spans were required beneath.

Two fire escape staircases were also required to service personnel working in the first floor offices; these were all manufactured in house with designs and loadings provided to us by J.P.P. Design.

During reconstruction works, new accesses were required for 3 schools in the Westminster schools projects.

Working to a very tight schedule; Safetyworks soon manufactured and installed 4 staircases in the centre of London; Safetyworks dealt with all craneage, logistics and access requirements.

When an auditorium was requred for a new teaching hospital, Safetyworks were employed to design & build both the seating areas & raised projection room.

The curved auditorium, room & staircases were designed to fit within the curved walls of the existing area. Over 200 individual components were manufactured to complete this project.
